Wuhan, abbreviated as “Han” and also known as Jiangcheng, is the capital of Hubei Province and the only sub-provincial city among the six provinces in Central China. It is a mega city and the central urban hub of Central China, serving as a key industrial base, a center for science and education, and a comprehensive transportation hub in the country.
Wuhan is a core city in the Yangtze River Economic Belt, a strategic pivot for the rise of Central China, and a pilot zone for comprehensive innovation and reform. It is one of the three major intelligence-intensive regions in China. Optics Valley of China is committed to becoming a globally influential center for innovation and entrepreneurship. In accordance with the requirements of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), Wuhan is accelerating its development to become a national central city supported by four key functions: a national economic center, a high-level scientific and technological innovation center, a trade and logistics center, and an international exchange center.
Wuhan International Expo Center is the largest multifunctional expo center in Central China, with the most comprehensive facilities.
The Expo Center primarily focuses on exhibitions, displays, and conferences, integrating exhibition, technology, culture, business, leisure, tourism, and residential areas. As an all-encompassing “urban living room”, it plays a key role in showcasing Wuhan to the outside world. The Expo Center is tasked with significantly developing the modern service industry and cultivating the exhibition industry as a new growth sector in Wuhan.
The core area of the Expo Center includes exhibition halls, conference centers, Intercontinental Wuhan, a global (cultural) center, and the Smart Building of Wuhan International Expo Center. It covers a total area of 6,253 mu with an investment of approximately RMB50 billion. The Expo Center will continually enhance its urban exhibition functions, dedicated to promoting the rapid and high-quality development of Wuhan's exhibition industry, and aim to become the “urban exhibition hall” on the Yangtze River Economic Belt while supporting the city's development.
